Up all night...

Why has it taken me so long to get some organizing done in the house? I mean, for Pete's sake, it's been such a mess. We haven't had as much empty space as we should and it's about time we did. I started yesterday's night of re-org-ing around 11pm. Focusing on the office, I removed all kinds of junk that shouldn't have been there in the first place. There's this small closet with no door that was storage to bulky garbage. After I emptied it out, I stared at it wondering, "How can I make the most out of this space?" I looked over at this one bookcase and thought, "Hmm. That would probably fit in the closet. If I put that in there, maybe I could put something else in it's place."

Ah ha! I suddenly remember there was a bookcase sitting in the garage, all alone, wishing it could eat some books and other miscellaneous storable items. I rushed to the garage (with it's ghetto low-security padlock) and found the bookcase in the very back. Ugh. I had to move all kinds of stuff to get to it and clean off all the webs and little spider/bug eggs. Not fun. But, yeah, I brought that sucker in, put it against the wall, put the other bookcase in the closet, and... WHAM-O... MUCH better now. I put all kinds of books in the "new" bookcase and finally took out my Fantasy Football trophy from a paper bag and displayed it proudly. Of course, the trophy SHOULD be in someone else's possession but I don't care. I'm going to enjoy it for now.

Tonight's plan... back to the basement to take all the boxes out of the den (is that what I should call it?) and into the areas for storage. That much closer to having the cats back home!
