Bad POCs

A few weeks ago, our Accounting Manager tells me that our Accounts Payable Dude would be going to France for a friend's wedding. He was only taking four days off, and would be back on Friday, March 6. Today. Three-Six-Nine.

The moment she tells me this info, I say, "Watch. He won't be back until Monday, March 9." I didn't tell her this but I know the way of the POC. People of Color. We always plan for the best case scenario then often fall short of our goals. And he's Jamaican. Man, that's just a given that he won't be back to work the day after his flight.

So what happens? An email this morning from our Accounting Manager:

Dale is out of the office today

Yes. A/P Dude is Dale.

Yeah, it's a little racist. But it's true. POCs. We can't help ourselves.
