Co-ink-ee-dink

My first day of work yesterday was good. It wasn't anything spectacular. Nobody was lined up outside my cubicle wanting to meet me. I kept my head down, just getting myself situated and reading a training manual. I didn't have the correct access to our accounting system so there wasn't much to learn. Hope that changes today.

After lunch, this one coworker, Lisa, started talking to me out of nowhere. She's a senior accountant I interviewed with. She said, "I had lunch with your fiancée today!"

What?

"Yeah, lunch with G."

HUH?

I said, "Wait? You went to PF Chang?"

Lisa says, "Yup!"

"You went for Debbie's birthday?"

"Yeah, that's my sister!"

Now, she's African American so I was close to thinking she was just using slang. I mean, she "coulda" been saying that Debbie was her sistah-vs-sister. But I took that It's-Always-Sunny-In-Philadelphia scenario out of mind knowing clear well she was talking sister as in family.

Isn't that just crazy, yo?
