Week 17: 169.2

Dangit. I think I would have hit my 168.0 goal for the week if I didn't eat so badly on Saturday night. I mean, dude, I just kept picking away at bad foods. But 'twas fun and I'm already doing good with my foods and exercise. Still, I have an ultimate 2-4-or-6 pack goal which I need to set my sights on. Also, I feel like my running will be better if I have less weight to carry around. Hence, my goal to get to 150lbs by the end of June. That's still in sight and I know I can do it. I just have to get serious again.

And serious I shall be.

Week 16: 170.4

Oh no! That's right. I gained 1.4 pounds this last week. Weight loss goal = FAIL! It's all good though. I had been doing good the entire week until I went out for some very bad (but delish) meals on Saturday. Three slice of pizza for lunch and then a buffet at a local casino just killed my hopes of losing weight for 16 weeks consecutive.

I probably didn't help myself any by eating at Red Robin where I consumed about 1500 calories for dinner. And I didn't make things any better by having popcorn & cherry coke during a movie. Oh well! It's a whole new week of getting back on target. Next up next week? 168 pounds! I'm comin for ya!

Too Much Apologizing

What's going on with the world today? I think the norm is for everyone to apologize for not taking care of this or that. I write a long email to a huge group of people asking for responses. What happens? Nothing. And, no, I'm not talking about you folks who I'm planning an LA trip with. I'm talking about the people who I go out of my way with to invite to join an NCAA Tournament Bracket. I give explicit directions and BOLD my request for people to let me know when they're done.

If only ONE person woulda responded, I would have been happy. But nobody respects anyone these days. Everyone thinks I do this for fun and I could care less for a response. But I care folks. And the more you a-holes continue doing it, the less likely I'm going to invite you to anymore shit. Yes, I'm pissed. Stop pissing me off. All of you.

Week 15: 169.0

I'm officially below 170 pounds! In 15 weeks, I've lost 30 pounds. That's an average of 2lbs per week. I'm still keeping it at a healthy pace.

I ran the St. Patty's 3.7 mile run early this morning. I can't believe how easily I ran it. I was smiling, laughing, and chattin it up with my friends. I got to a point where I may have been annoying people around me. Next time, I'll go faster than the 11-minute mile pace run today. But my goal was to finish with my friends. I was especially proud of my friend Karen. I don't think she ever thought she'd be running like this but she successfully did it with ease.

I'm gonna try to run hard this week. I'll reserve group runs for completing long distances. But my individual ones, I want to get to a 10 minute mile within the next few weeks. Time to sleep!

On the Waterfront

I brought in my clothes to work to run with my friend Chau. But turns out she took a sick day 'cause her little Charlie was sick. SO, I thought, I'll just run after work back in W.Seattle. But my G was stressing and wanted a little more time to work late. So instead of going home, I chose to hangout downtown to wait for her.

What'd I do to kill time? I took a gloriously wonderfultastic run along the Seattle waterfront. It was so beautiful. It was a little cloudy but you could still see that sun settin off in the west. AND, it ended up being my longest run this year! I ran almost four miles in forty minutes. I was so super proud of myself. I didn't even stop to walk at all. In fact, I added a few interval runs - sprinting every once in awhile. I've now had two great runs in a row. I had an easy 3.5 mile run on Saturday down at Seward Park.

I don't even care about how fast I run these things. Okay, I kinda do. But better times will come with, uhhh... time. For now, I just want to slowly increase my distance and endurance. My plan is working just as I hoped!

By the way, my coworkers might be nice, but I could care less for my job. I'm so over it and the lack of work I'm given. I'm so not being utilized like I could be. Oh well... time to look for another job soon.

Week 14: 172.0

This past week's results was somewhat of a surprise. I lost a whole 1.4 pounds! Food is definitely key to this whole process. Overeat and it's bad news. But by eating a lot of good foods while keeping under a certain amount of calories, I'm remaining on the downward trend.

At this point, I'm not worried about the weight. I'm concerned about making sure I'm eating the stuff that my body needs... all them fruites & veggies, whole grains, and proteins. Focusing on that and knowing how beneficial it is for me is what prevents me (for the most part) from overdoing it on the bad stuff. I'm going on my fourth month of this lifestyle and I have to say it's so easy for breezy.

I am getting a little sick of myself talking about this topic so I think I'll just cut it off right here . . .

Week 13: 173.4

I lost almost another pound this past week. I really was on pace to get to two pounds for the week but then bad Korean food came long. Well, great tasting to me – but not so good on the calories. I had so much that I ate it for 4-5 different meals. If it wasn't for that, I'm sure I would have had more than a 0.8 lb loss this week. Especially considering I've been running a lot and played basketball.

So it's March now. Whenever I think of March, I think of spring. And when I think of spring, I think of nicer weather and getting outside and being active. And, when I think of the nice weather this particular year? I get real excited because, folks, it's a whole new me! I'm not gonna feel heavy or self-conscious about my clothes and not keeping up with others. I'm feeling great because I've worked hard and now I'll be able to enjoy the wonderful weather that'll, ummmm… EVENTUALLY come along.
